Boss Hosts 2nd Women’s Self-Defence Seminar

We want to give a HUGE ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป thank you to Randy Turnerย @direct_action_combatย for leading us through our second 3-hour self-defence seminar at the Boss gym yesterday. We had 17 women come out even during a snowstorm! – Randyโ€™s seminar was engaging, informative, thought-provoking, confidence-building, and FUN ๐Ÿคฉ Most importantly, everyone left with a few more tools in their chest that will keep them stay safe via prevention and intervention of unwanted contact. We were able to refresh our memory from the first seminar, but also learn new and important techniques!

Whether you attended our first or second seminar or if you missed them both, our next seminar on May 6th covers the psychological aspects of self-defence as well as going more in-depth with ground work and self defence techniques from a pinned position, but also learning how to get out of hostage situations! There will always be something new to learn, so keep showing up! ๐Ÿ’œ

Boss Brings Home Another Win!

Winner Winner! ๐Ÿ† Congratulations to Zach Marques who fought on the Art of War at the Canadian War Museum on February 25th! Zach secured the WIN with strong boxing — landing stiff jabs and crosses that bloodied his opponent and also outworked him in the clinch with beautiful turns and relentless knees/elbows.  ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ™

Nutrition with Bracken

Thursday night at the gym we welcomed a special guest: Bracken Gogolin, owner of Nutrition with Bracken (@nutritionwithbracken) to speak to us about the role of nutrition in her holistic approach to wellness ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿค We learned about the important role that hormones play for women as we move through life stages, sleep and eating as much and what foods our body needs to feel sustained and to perform. Bracken is an invaluable resource for athletes and everyone working towards living their best life. Follow @nutritionwithbracken to inquire about her meal planning and nutritional coaching services or check out her delivery menu for some of the delicious goodies she makes! (Last night we enjoyed her chocolate energy balls – and we may have all gone back for seconds ๐Ÿ˜†๐ŸคŽ)

Another Team Boss Win!

Winner Winner! ๐Ÿ† Kemptville resident Rob Hossie put on a great performance after a one year hiatus recovering from a broken arm. ๐Ÿ’ช He secured some 8-Counts and almost put his opponent away in the 3rd #SOclose! Age is just a number, Rob’s 38 and has the endurance of someone 10 years younger! Consistent training, an active lifestyle and a healthy diet for the win! Muay Thai’s for everyone! ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ™
